ABOUT THE SHOW

As part of the ongoing 20th anniversary celebration of the release of NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, the cast and filmmakers of the iconic film gathered online with a select group of superfans to watch the film in its entirety reliving memories of making the film and providing commentary, origin stories and answering fan questions. The event was recorded on August 22, 2024.

The screening event features Jon Heder (Napoleon), Efren Ramirez (Pedro), Shondrella Avery (Lafawnduh), Trevor Snarr (Don) writer Jerusha Hess and writer, director Jared Hess and was hosted by Coy Jandreau.

Some of the topic discussed by the esteemed cast and filmmakers include:
How long did it really take to shade Trish’s upper lip? What is the only scene Jon broke character and smiled? Was Lafawnduh catfishing Kip? The true story behind Uncle Rico’s time machine? And origin and breakdown of the iconic dance scene?

The WatchAlong can be viewed on all popular browsers, phones and tablets. The event will last approximately 3 hours and is available in the US and Canada.

Jon Heder

Napoleon

Jonathan Joseph Heder is an American actor and producer who is known for portraying Napoleon Dynamite in 2004. He returned to play the role in an animated series and a 2005 MTV Movie Awards skit. He also acted in the Pororo the Penguin films including Pororo's Racing Adventure, Pororo's Dinosaur Island, Pororo: Treasure Island Adventure, Surf's Up, Just Like Heaven, Pinocchio: A True Story, The Benchwarmers, Blades of Glory, Monster House, Momma's Boy and other works. He is married to Kirsten Bales since 2004 and has three children. In 2022 He appeared in one episode of Studio C as a guest star.

Efren Ramirez

Pedro

Efren Ramirez has been working as a professional actor for many years. Initially, his career consisted of guest star appearances on television, as he appeared in diverse roles on "E.R.", "AMERICAN DAD", "JUDGING AMY", "THE DISTRICT", "MAD TV", and "SCRUBS."

However, it was his memorable portrayal of "PEDRO" in the feature film "NAPOLEON DYNAMITE" that dramatically launched what has become a hugely prolific acting career with an unusually diverse series of performances in Film, Television, Drama, Comedy...every imaginable medium and genre.

In the years since that film was released, Efren Ramirez has appeared in scores of films and television shows, including leading roles in the HBO film "WALKOUT"; with Edward James Olmos, "EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH"; opposite Dane Cook and Dax Shepard, "CRANK" and CRANK HIGH VOLTAGE; opposite Jason Statham, (playing his own twin brother in the sequel.) He also appeared in "GAMER" with Gerard Butler, "WHEN IN ROME" with Kristen Bell, "CROSSING THE HEART" opposite Kris Kristofferson, "HOUSE OF MY FATHER" opposite Will Ferrell, and HBO's EASTBOUND AND DOWN" with Danny McBride.

Shondrella Avery

Shondrella Dupre Avery is an American actress, model and comedian. Her film roles include as LaFawnduh Lucas-Dynamite in the independent comedy Napoleon Dynamite, and supporting roles in Domino and The Secret Life of Bees.

Trevor Snarr

Don

Trevor Snarr was born on April 29, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Medinah (2020) and The Eden Theory (2021).
While filming "Napoleon Dynamite" Trevor Snarr claimed his hotel room was haunted and ended up sleeping a couple nights in Efren Rameriz's (Pedro) room on the floor.
Was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves as a chaplain assistant for 7 years, with the 419th Fighter Wing at Hill AFB, Utah.

Jared Hess

Jared Lawrence Hess and Jerusha Elizabeth Hess (née Demke; born May 12, 1980) are husband-and-wife American filmmakers best known for their work on Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Nacho Libre (2006) and Gentlemen Broncos (2009), all of which they co-wrote and which were directed by Jared (Nacho Libre was co-written with Mike White). They also produced music videos for The Postal Service's third single, "We Will Become Silhouettes", and The Killers' Christmas charity single "Boots".

Jerusha Hess

Jerusha Hess was born on July 12, 1980 in Olathe, Kansas, USA. She is a writer and producer, known for Austenland (2013), Ninety-Five Senses (2022) and Napoleon Dynamite (2004). She is married to Jared Hess. They have one child.
