ABOUT THE SHOW

In conjunction with Line, Form, Qi: Calligraphic Art from the Fondation INK Collection, The Art of Nôm explores an ancient and nearly extinct Vietnamese script called Chu Nom and the five scholarly artists known as the Zenei Gang of Five. The film dives into Vietnam’s culture and the beauty, heritage and emotion of the Chu Nom characters that inspire the Zenei Group artists.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with LACMA curator Susie Ferrell, Art Director Suzanne Lecht and artists Nguyễn Quang Thắng and Lê Quốc Việt.

Viewing instructions will be sent to the provided email just prior to the scheduled start time. The movie and conversation will be available until Monday, September 22, Midnight.
